Human Resource Manager – Madison, WI

This is an opportunity for a Plant Human Resources Manager at our manufacturing facility in the greater Madison, WI area.  We seek a strong business partner with a business mindset and exceptional partnership skills. In this role you will provide HR leadership to the site, including: recruiting, staffing, capability building, performance management, employee retention and ensuring a culture of engaged employees.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as a member of the Plant Leadership Team, partnering with cross functional leaders to drive business performance using business acumen, strong HR knowledge, and change management expertise in the development of a performance driven culture.
  • Manages recruitment efforts for all Plant exempt / non-exempt / hourly employees and manages our temp vendor relationships.
  • Leads key HR initiatives in support of the organization including workforce planning, succession planning, employee development, process improvement, execution of standard work processes and new hire on-boarding.
  • Partners with the Plant Manager to develop a high performing site leadership team and engaging leaders at all levels.
  • Creates a positive employee relations environment through close engagement and interaction with employees across the plant.
  • Maintains responsibility for ensuring regulatory company compliance pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Supports safety management related activities and safety training.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Responsible for HRIS data integrity and administration of the plant payroll function.
  • Works closely with the Leadership and staff to prepare and execute the Annual Operating Plan, Budgets and growth plan.
  • Assists in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary program.  
  • Coordinate employee events and programs, including annual open enrollment.
  • Manages all employees of the HR department. 
  • Provides HR support to other plants as needed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including organizational development, employee relations, diversity, compensation, performance management, and employment law.
  • Experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience driving change in a high performance culture.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the Ceridian / Dayforce HRIS system
  • MA Human Resources or related advanced Degree
  • PHR/SPHR Certification
  • Bilingual skills
