SUMMARY: 
 
The Master Planning Manager is responsible for delivering the overall production planning and scheduling for finished goods across multiple plant(s). The responsibilities include but are not limited to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s production planning process. Success is measured through the achievement of customer service and supply chain targets while meeting the operational and financial goals of the company. This role will oversee the production schedulers.
 
SKILL SETS:
  • Advanced PC skills, with emphasis on spreadsheet creation/formulas (MS Excel) and ERP/MRP experience
  • Ability to effectively and professionally work under pressure, in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb frequent changes in deadlines and priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and people skills are a must
  • Experience in S&OP planning for high volume plant production
  • Experience in production planning for multi-site food plants a plus
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop stated/operating capacity and utilization models based on planned and demonstrated net output, utilizing capability constraints by plant and line.
  • Build a production planning and scheduling process that:
    • Translate sales forecasts into a monthly production plan with all constraints in order to meet customer service targets.
    • Achieve targeted finished goods inventory levels for made to stock customers, delivering needed weeks of forward coverage to deliver on service objectives.
    • Minimizes changeovers and optimizes production run sizes.
  • Working closely with Procurement, Operations, Customer Service and Transportation to provide production forecasts that allow for material planning, pallet storage and dock throughput. 
  • Partner with product management stakeholders to:
    • Review new item onboarding, planning first production, line trials and sample runs as needed
    • Monitor production plan timing for removal of discontinued SKU’s, in order to minimize cost exposure
  • Document, track and evolve current KPI’s in order to measure capacity by line, effectiveness of scheduling, projection of inventory needs and operating plan requirements for direct labor/supporting services.
  • Provide weekly analysis, reporting and planning recommendations leveraging net output and shipment reporting
    • Provide weekly reporting and status of on-boarding initiatives and coordinate information/actions with other departments.
    • Deliver and facilitate monthly production plan & capacity/utilization reviews.
  • Clearly and proactively communicate any constraints to the business that would impact service levels
  • Upload and maintain production forecast in ERP, ensure the correct planning parameters within master data
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Strong analytical skills and able to synthesize considerable and complex data
  • Be able to manage, create and utilize spreadsheet and ERP software in managing planning processes
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and work against deadlines

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Accredited 4 year college degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or other related fields
  • Experience in a production facility with USDA presence, frozen food manufacturing environment a plus
  • 3+ years in production scheduling/planning or similar field, APICS CPIM and /or CSCP certification a plus, but not required
  • Advanced working knowledge and experience with MRP/ERP systems and excel
